March, 1999 More [Artist Bios]

Ethan Skinner is a more-than-capable and skillful axe wielder currently based in Logan, Utah (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as instrumental hard rock, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Negative Reciprocality". photoHis most utilized guitars consist of an Ernie Ball Music Man and a Hamer. Skinner has been playing guitar since 1992, and straight from the shoulder discloses his career objective, "Writing music and recording in my home studio."

When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Skinner unflinchingly stated, "Reverb," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "To continue writing music like Metallica, Satriani, and Dream Theater." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study guitar with Dream Theater's John Petrucci, and is presently listening to Metallica, Steve Vai, Savatage, Dream Theater and Dokken. His principal gratification? "Writing a heavy riff that just simply rocks," he explains absolutely.

photoSkinner wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "I'm just finishing up another instrumental rock CD with Barry Brooksby and Jeff Price called "Negative Reciprocality". Practicing everyday. Studying the style of Savatage."

Skinner's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes a number of recording projects (Black Lightning "Negative Reciprocality", Black Lightning "The Storm Rages On").
