When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Skinner unflinchingly stated, "Reverb," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "To continue writing music like Metallica, Satriani, and Dream Theater." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study guitar with Dream Theater's John Petrucci, and is presently listening to Metallica, Steve Vai, Savatage, Dream Theater and Dokken. His principal gratification? "Writing a heavy riff that just simply rocks," he explains absolutely.
Skinner wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "I'm just finishing up another instrumental rock CD with Barry Brooksby and Jeff Price called "Negative Reciprocality". Practicing everyday. Studying the style of Savatage."
