Eric Sands is a more-than-capable and skillful axe wielder currently based in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) who represents his playing style as instrumental hard rock/art rock, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Across The Miles". His most utilized guitars consist of an Ibanez Universe and an Ibanez JEM. Sands has been playing guitar since 1974, and straight from the shoulder discloses his career objective, "Within the next 5 years, I hope to release a few more CDs in addition to "The Generation Ibanez Project" and "Man on Fire"."
When asked to finally make public his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Sands unflinchingly stated, "Wah-wah pedal," and continued by outlining his musicial goals, "I'm trying to convey a wide range of human emotion through guitar and fretless bass which I find to be amazingly expressive." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study how to tap into the collective consciousness that binds all things together through love, art and spirituality ("Music is but one doorway to a higher level of spiritual reality"), and is presently listening to Mick Karn, Eloy, Peter Gabriel, Gary Numan, Lynch Mob and Union. His principal gratification? "Playing live and seeing people enjoying and getting off on what I'm doing is a real rush," he explains absolutely.
Sands wraps up by mentioning current and approaching endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "My musical day mainly includes promoting my music, playing for at least an hour or two, writing and looking for new CDs to buy."
Sands's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes a number of recording projects (Jason Becker Trib. "Warmth In The Wilderness", Rusty Cooley "Rusty Cooley", Trib Deep Purple/Rainbow "Blackmore's Castle Vol. 2", Generation Ibanez Project "Across The Miles", Music Of Hendrix "The Spirit Lives On Vol. 1", Man On Fire "Man On Fire", Gary Moore Tribute "Give Us Moore!", Uli Jon Roth Tribute "Beyond Inspiration", Truth Of Fiction "Truth Of Fiction", Virtual Strangers "Prelusion").
