Diego Garcia is a spirited, energetic guitarist from Madrid (Spain) who describes his style as blues-country, as demonstrated on his latest release, "Octopus". His guitars of choice include a 52 Telecaster and a Gibson ES-295. Garcia has played guitar since 1985, and clearly states his career goal, "To make a living playing my music."
When asked about his favorite effect for the guitar, Garcia replied, "Tape delay," and mentioned his musicial goals, "To find my own composing style." He would love to someday study pedal steel, and is currently listening to Jim Campilongo, Wayne Shorter and Duke Ellington. His greatest satisfaction? "Playing my tunes in a live situation," he states unequivocally.
Garcia lists ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "I'm currently recording my second album."
Guitar Nine Records visitors have compared the playing style and/or musical approach of Diego Garcia to guitarists such as Jeff Beck and others.
Garcia's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Octopus", "Twanguero").
