David Sinclair is a 'righteous' and adroit axe wielder currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) who represents his playing style as acoustic instrumental folk-celtic-melodic, as a music fan can now experience on his most recent recording, "Acoustic Christmas". His workhorse guitars include a Martin D28 (acoustic) and a Hamer T-51 (electric). Sinclair has been playing guitar since 1966, and putting it simply, divulges his career objective, "Continuing to work as a sideguy to famous artists, continuing to write for TV & film, and getting myself a higher profile as a solo artist."
When requested to let slip his favorite or most used effect for the guitar, Sinclair resolutely answered, "Delay," and then outlined his musicial goals, "Music with integrity." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study er... nothing, and is at the moment listening to nothing in particular. His principal gratification? "It's a toss-up between concert performance and studio work," he explains without hesitation.
Sinclair wraps up by noting long-term and forthcoming endeavors enthusiastically, by saying, "Although we have been off since last year's Lilith Fair, I'm still a member of Sarah McLachlan's band (since 1993). Untill recently I was composing and performing surf-rock music for the FOX TV series "Weird-Ohs". This summer I performed at a number of folk festivals in Canada, and recorded two instuctional videos (to be released sometime this fall). I hope to expand upon and record some of the Weird-Ohs music I've written, and I have a bunch of acoustic music waiting to go as well."
