David Martone is a sparkling, altogether exciting six-stringer from Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) who reveals his style as progressive fusion, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Zone". His favorite guitars include a Parker Fly and a Fender Strat. Martone has played guitar since 1976, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "To bring back instrumental music and make it new and exciting. Then to bring our music to the four corners of the earth and back, then conquer the next planet!"
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Martone came back with, "Compression," and then brought up his musicial goals, "To create new sounds, song structures and harmony in music while expanding regular listener's minds to comprehend it." He fervently hopes to one day study piano in the style of George Winston, and is at this time listening to the Johansson Brothers with Allan Holdsworth, Serge Rachmaninoff, Noise Therapy and Peter Gabriel's 'The Passion'. His primary fulfillment? "Being able to squeeze emotion from every note, no matter how fast they occur and creating music with Paul, Juice and Daniel," he affirms conclusively.
Martone concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "I am in the finishing stages of Martone's third release. I have also started working on vocal songs with my brother Paul. I am also starting to build a project studio for our recordings."
