Dave Atherton is a passionate and talented axe wielder currently based in Yonkers, New York (U.S.A.) who represents his playing style as dynamic instrumental rock, as a listener can readily appreciate on his most recent album, "Purist". His most utilized guitar is a 1990 BC Rich "Mason Bernard" (24-fret, Ebony fingerboard, A #051 neck with a #054 Body). Atherton has been playing guitar since 1987, and without beating around the bush discloses his career aspiration, "To find a guitar that stays in tune!"
When prompted to divulge his ultimate effect for the guitar, Atherton responded by saying, "A touch of bright-plate reverb," and continued by citing his musicial goals, "Melody and the high-tech all at once." He eagerly hopes to one day study classical piano, and is presently listening to various Celtic idioms, Symphony X and King Diamond. His principal fulfillment? "Finishing an album," he declares without a doubt.
Atherton wraps up by mentioning current and approaching undertakings enthusiastically, by saying, "Just finished the new CD "Leaving the Scene"."
