Curtis is a reputable, vital guitarist from Playa del Rey, California (U.S.A.) who describes his style as instrumental rock/jazz, as documented on his latest release, "Room 137". His guitar of choice is a Tom Anderson Classic. Curtis has played guitar since 1977, and frankly affirms his career goal, "Short term, to sell enough CDs so that I can record and release a follow up. Long term, to write and record great music and share it with as many people as possible."
When requested to name his preferred effect for the guitar, Curtis responded with, "Delay," and submitted his musicial goals, "I try to create music that takes the listener to a different level of consciousness (kind of like meditation, or drugs and alcohol). For me, instrumental music is the best way to create this "mood altering" effect." He would like to someday study piano, and is currently listening to Pat Martino, "Both Side Know" and "The Best of John Coltrane". His greatest satisfaction? "Playing live, with my tone just the way I like it, and being totally in the flow," he answers indisputably.
Curtis notes ongoing and upcoming projects thusly, "Touring to promote my CDs. Deciding what my next guitar purchase will be."
Curtis's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Curtis", "Room 137", "Blue Electric Cool").
