Bryon Thompson is a potent and seasoned musician/guitarist currently based in Leo, Indiana (USA) who denotes his playing style as accessible instrumental pop rock, as a music fan can hear on his most recent recording, "Get On With It". His workhorse guitar is a Godin A6 (natural finish). Thompson has been playing guitar since 1980, and putting it simply, relates his career objective, "To reach a broader audience with my music by further promoting and encouraging instrumental pop/rock with infectious hooks, catchy melodies and layers of inventive guitar textures to potential listeners."
When requested to let slip his top choice for an effect for the guitar, Thompson resolutely answered, "Reverb," and then outlined his musicial goals, "My goal is always to write and record instrumental pop/rock that's original, accessible and uplifting yet has depth and soul." He maintains a desire to, at some point, study pedal or lap steel, and is at the moment listening to Adrian Legg, ELO, Todd Rundgren, Lyle Workman and Bruce Kaphan. His most important gratification? "The final mix (!) and having my music appreciated," he explains without hesitation.
Thompson winds up by mentioning long-term and forthcoming endeavors insightfully, by saying, "I'm always collecting musical ideas for the next project."
Thompson's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("Get On With It").
