Bill Pierce is a more-than-capable, altogether exciting six-stringer from Hermon, Maine (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as jazzed-out rock with influences from all styles of music, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Ripped". His favorite guitars consist of a Fender and an ESP. Pierce has played guitar since 1982, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "Playing nothing but original music for a living."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Pierce came back with, "Digitech 2101, 2120, 2112," and then brought up his musicial goals, "I want to create the ultimate music: Great tunes with artistic integrity and burning chops." He fervently hopes to one day study with Allan Holdsworth, and is at this time listening to Parliment, Funkadelic, Jeff Beck, Scott Henderson and Allan Holdsworth. His primary fulfillment? "Playing my own music and having the audience like it," he affirms conclusively.
Pierce concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "Getting my band ready to play my stuff, writting tunes and songs, and teaching. I will be releasing a new CD very soon."
Pierce's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes several solo albums ("Mirrors", "Ripped") and participation on a number of other recordings (Scott Hughes "Lapse", Man Vs. Himself "Man Vs. Himself").
