Ballurio is a dynamic, committed six-stringer from Manassas, Virginia (U.S.A.) who reveals his style as instrumental rock, as one can clearly experience on his latest album, "Spider Dance". His favorite guitars include a Stenberger GM4T - "Coffee" and a Washburn EC36 - "Ruby". Ballurio has played guitar since 1970, and freely acknowledges his career aspiration, "To continue writing, playing and growing musically."
When requested to reveal his ultimate effect for the guitar, Ballurio answered back with, "Distortion - properly done," and then brought up his musicial goals, "Strive to increase the subtleties and richness of my music ensuring that my music continues to expand and change. Release a new album every two years." He hopes to one day study with Joe Satriani, and is at this time listening to everything, predominately guitarists. His primary fulfillment? "The process of blending instrumental orchestrations and hearing musical ideas evolve into a completed musical composition, something that is musically exciting and never been done before. I truly enjoy the process of creating new music through the blending of different instruments into a composition with rich overtones and complexities," he affirms conclusively.
Ballurio concludes by mentioning continuing and future undertakings succinctly, by saying, "What I'm currently working on is a new project that's a combination of rock blended with techno and industrial. The music for the current project has been written and the studio process is just getting started... this is the part I really dig! The project will blend rock, interlaced with complex and rich guitar orchestrations, with tastefully used synthesizers and heavy percussion and bass. This is quite a departure from my last project, "Spider Dance", which was written with the mind set of hard and raw orchestrated guitar, bass and drums... fundamental!"
Ballurio's discography (available here at Guitar Nine Records) includes one solo album ("In The Machine").
