Mahavishnu Orchestra

"Between Nothingness & Eternity"

The Story
"Between Nothingness & Eternity" featured the Mahavishnu Orchestra live in concert, showcasing the great guitar work of John McLaughlin and allowing all five members to stretch out more than the typical MahavOrch studio album. Each of the three mega-pieces features a number of sections varying mood and tone. Between Nothingness And Eternity also included some stellar piano and Moog playing from Jan Hammer, as well as the violin of Jerry Goodman. Both musicians deserve yeoman-like praise for keeping up with double-necked McLaughlin in the notes-per-minute department. A classic period piece.
