A Year Closer, from Fourth Estate guitarist Dave Beegle, features the Colorado musician's flamenco and world-flavored guitar stylings over ten instrumental acoustic tracks. Beegle reprises some of his defining moments here, as on the acoustic version of "Joy" (first recorded as a electric number on Fourth Estate's "Finesse And Fury"), but what stands out on A Year Closer is his love for flamenco music. "Big Fish Rumba", "Malaguena" (a traditional Spanish melody popularized by Carlos Montoya) and "Shake It, But Don't Break It ('Cause If You Bruise It, I Can't Use It)" all serve to showcase Beegle's talent over flamenco charged pieces that display passion and grace. A number of deeply personal acoustic pieces round out the set; truly another master work by a dedicated and inspired guitarist.
