Fred Hamm
"Aquarius Dreams"
|
French guitarist Fred Hamm's 2000 solo instrumental CD, "Aquarius Dreams", blends hard rock and progressive rock influences, as well as shades of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Ron Thal. Featured are bassist Pascal Mulot (voted best fusion bass player in 2003). and drummers Doudou Weiss and Gilles Choir (official demonstrator for Zildjian and Pearl). With a fusion of rock, jazz, metal and progressive, all tracks are heavily guitar dominated, recalling the great Satriani and Stuart Hamm collaborations. The song "Aquarius" is moreover dedicated to Satriani. "Aquarius Dreams" has remarkable energy - certain fragments, such as "Song For The Natives", blend rock 'n' roll with samples added to embellish the melody.
