Another World is the 1993 new world release from acoustic guitarist Rom Ryan. The CD features six instrumentals along with four vocal numbers, and each piece is carefully crafted to take the listener outside familiar aural surroundings. Ryan accomplishes this by his arrangements and orchestration, augmenting his steel-string acoustic with exotic instruments such as guena, lyricon, shakuhachi flute, doumbek, palmas, sitar and tablas. Ryan takes you through India ("Bombay Blues", "Mysterious River"), Claude Debussey's France ("Moonlight & Debussey") and Spain ("Spanish Nights"), to name but a few, on his round-the-world-in-40-minutes recording.
