In the same vein as Liquid Tension Experiment and, to a lesser extent, Dream Theater, is the instrumental group from the Netherlands known as "Anomaly". Featuring rhythmically intense and complex progressive rock and the guitar work of Rory Hansen, the CD is an all instrumental, nine track offering sure to interest fans of the genre. Songs such as "B-Yond 2K" and '101101001" feature rock-solid riffage, crunchy guitars, arpeggiated passages and drum patterns that propel the tracks into deeper waters. You'll even hear fusion influences in spots, such as the intro to ">4th&X", while the rhythm guitars at times could find a home on any respectible metal album -- some great stuff here.
