The guitar duet Animacorda was created in 2002 when friends and classical guitar soloists Aris Lanarides and Michalis Brouzos decided to blend their love for music and classical guitar in live concerts, performing compositions from the Latin-American repertoire of the 20th century. Brouzos and Lanarides both graduated from "Peiraikos Sundesmos" conservatory acquiring a certificate and diploma in classical guitar. Brouzos also took advanced theoretical, interpretation and virtuosity classes. He has performed many recitals as a soloist in Athens and other Greek cities as well as abroad (Stuttgart, Frankfurt). He composes music for classical guitar andstringed instrument ensembles, and for theater. Lanarides attended master classes given by international recognized soloists and specialized in high pitch and 12 strings guitar by Yorgos Kertzopoulos. He has performed many recitals as a soloist and as a member of various Greek, Spanish and German orchestras. He composes music for classical guitar and stringed instruments ensembles. Recently he composed a film score for a movie short. In 2005 Michalis and Aris recorded their first EP/CD, Animacorda, with their own compositions.
