shadowy world of the misanthrope. Reminiscent of heavy metal guitar instrumental albums such as Chris Poland's "Return To Metalopolis", Chicago-area based guitarist Konfirst's An Effigy Of Solitude offers six crunchy instrumental metal tracks, the metallic, Bach-influenced interlude "Prelude And Invention In G Minor" and the three-part piano/guitar experimental piece "Sonata In Twelve Tones". Interestingly, Konfirst was a guest guitarist on the progressive group Earthcubed's album "The Dark And The Divine". The final track on An Effigy Of Solitude, "Freedom", is dedicated to the men and women around the world who have given their lives in its defense, serving humanity with honor and courage.
