Steve Saluto
"All That I'd Be"
|
Following up his scorching 1999 CD "Under" and his 2001 EP/CD "A Different Fire", Italian guitarist Steve Saluto has recorded "All That I'd Be", a half-studio, half-live album, with the live tracks being recorded on his last tour. Injecting funk and other influences into the rock mix, Saluto takes a page from the Richie Kotzen playbook here, concentrating on feeling and emotion in his guitar playing. He covers the Steely Dan favorite "Josie" at the end of the CD, but not before pumping up the fans with a two minute "Guitar Solo". Saluto handles all the lead vocals on the record, another change from "Under", which only adds to the different feel that "All That I'd Be" has from the artist's previous works.
