Fans of fire-breathing guitar need to check out Alejandro Silva I, the Chilean guitarist Alejandro Silva's 1999 debut CD. Ripping metal rhythms lay the groundwork for some amazing shred to follow - Silva's got ground breaking chops, and he's not afraid to use them. All instrumental, the compositions feature interesting chord progressions, aggressive juggernaut drumming (courtesy of Gonzalo Muga), an extra bit of low-end crunch, relentless energy, and state-of-the-art guitar solos. If the opening "Intro I" doesn't blow you away (and it should), the riffage on tracks such as "K2", "Rey Satan" and "Cronopolis" will have you fist-pumping and head-banging for sure. Incredible debut. Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Heavy Metal/Shred), total running time, 49:45
