Tom Ball began playing guitar at the age of eleven and took up harmonica three years later. Chicago-style blues bands provided the milieu for his talents throughout the '60s. A noted blues historian, he has written countless articles on the music for various publications, and has taught harmonica at the university level. In addition to working with guitarist Kenny Sultan, Tom has performed and sung on numerous TV and film projects, appeared as a sideman on over 160 releases, recorded two solo guitar CDs - "Guitar Music" and 18 Pieces For Solo Steel String Guitar. Eleven nations are represented on this instrumental disc: Cuba, Ireland, the Bahamas, Germany, Paraguay, Brazil, Nigeria, France, Mexico, Spain and the USA. The music was written both 500 years ago and last year, for instruments as diverse as lute, piano, vihuela, harp, orchestra, solo voice, choir, and yes, guitar.
